Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting finance or related field
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial management preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Oracle Hyperion and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- May require occasional evening or weekend work to meet deadlines or assist with special projects
Job Qualifications

- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial management preferably in the hospitality industry
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles financial regulations and internal controls
- Proficiency in accounting software e.g. Oracle Hyperion and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of the hotel including accounts payable accounts receivable general ledger and payroll
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and adherence to accounting principles and standards
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements
- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to senior management
- Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to develop comprehensive budgets
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and explanations
- Prepare financial forecasts and projections to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax returns
- Oversee the Purchasing Card process at the hotel to ensure timely coding proper approval and collection of necessary backups
- Assist Director of Finance with completing the year-end audit process Review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers Participate in and respond to auditor requests to ensure total hotel compliance
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff providing guidance and support as needed
- Foster a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous improvement within the accounting department
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff to promote professional development
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends opportunities and risks
- Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management to support decision-making
- Evaluate investment opportunities and cost-saving initiatives
- Manage the distribution of critical daily reports to the hotel management team such as the Daily Report Negative Postings POS Voids and S P reports
