Job Requirements

  • High school certificate of completion, diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience
  • Ability to read and understand menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of sanitation and health department guidelines
  • Physical ability to bend, lift up to 50 pounds, reach, turn, and stand for long periods
  • Reliable and dependable

Job Qualifications

  • High school certificate of completion, diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in commercial kitchen
  • Skills in cooking and preparing a variety of foods
  • Ability to read and understand menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and health department guidelines

  • Physically able to perform job duties

Job Duties

  • Assist director of food services or sous chef in executing daily menu
  • Start preparation of main meals
  • Assist with kitchen and food storage
  • Cook as directed by director of food services or sous chef
  • Follow menus to prepare for next day's menu
  • Maintain sanitation and health standards in the kitchen
  • Ensure clean-up of kitchen according to guidelines
  • Watch the serving line and replenish food as needed
  • Perform major cleaning of ovens, refrigerators, and storeroom
  • Report accidents or incidents immediately
  • Complete other duties as required
