Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of cooking experience required
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • culinary school or apprenticeship preferred
  • minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
  • experience working in fast-paced, high volume environment
  • experience within 5-star framework of deluxe hotels or reputable restaurants
  • ServSafe certified
  • knowledge of policies and procedures regarding health and safety, sanitation, chemical use, fire procedures, and HACCP
  • knowledge of kitchen equipment operations
  • ability to read, write, and understand English
  • proficient in basic and intermediate math
  • ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management, staff, and guests
  • must have Food Safety Employee Training certification and Food Handler's Card
  • able to manage team including managers, supervisors, and hourly employees
  • excellent communication and administration skills
  • ability to maintain and develop standards set by Caesars Entertainment
  • must demonstrate culinary creativity
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting up to 100 pounds, working in confined spaces, and maintaining sensory acuity
  • must be able to work any shift and long hours when necessary

Job Duties

  • Assist Executive Chef and Chef de Cuisine with day-to-day running of the department
  • be responsible for the outlet and overall quality of products produced
  • assume responsibilities in the absence of Chef de Cuisine
  • oversee all aspects of daily BOH operations including staff station assignments, ordering and receiving product, preparing prep lists, quality checking food during all preparation stages, general supervision of production and service, and conducting health and safety inspections
  • ensure quality food product and presentation
  • ensure food is handled according to SNHD regulation
  • enforce company policies on health and safety, sanitation, fire procedures, and HACCP
  • ensure safe and proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment
  • maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation
  • teach, develop, and support culinary team
  • hold team members accountable fairly
  • foster a caring work environment
  • collaborate with General Manager and front of house to ensure positive guest experience
  • minimize waste and spoilage by monitoring occupancy
  • maintain high standards of personal hygiene
  • undertake additional duties as required within position scope
