Job Requirements

  • Valid California Class C Driver's License
  • Availability of private transportation
  • Completion of ongoing training and certifications including at least 10 hours annual continuing education
  • Submission of official or unofficial transcripts and certifications by application deadline
  • Ability to pass oral examinations and training & experience evaluations
  • Compliance with district policies on equal opportunity and sexual harassment prevention

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in culinary arts, dietetics, food and nutrition, hotel and restaurant management, or a related field
  • Three years of culinary experience in large food service operations
  • Two years of supervisory experience in school food service or similar settings
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations
  • Valid Manager Food-Safety Certification
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to train and evaluate personnel effectively

Job Duties

  • Develop recipes and plan menus for catering and school nutrition programs
  • Conduct on-site monitoring and training to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • Oversee food production operations within the district
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local food safety policies
  • Collaborate with the Director of Nutrition Services on program improvements
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to food service operations
