Job Requirements

  • Previous scratch cook experience making fresh food
  • Ability to work full-time or part-time schedules
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday including rotating weekends
  • Ability to perform physical tasks associated with kitchen operations
  • Ability to adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Reliable transportation or means to get to New Glarus Home
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Previous scratch cook experience
  • Experience supervising food service associates
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including rotating weekends
  • Ability to train and counsel staff effectively
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Job Duties

  • Cook and prepare food following approved recipes and production standards
  • Ensure all deadlines are met based on production orders
  • Supervise hourly food service associates including interviewing, scheduling, payroll, training, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action
  • Store food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control, and maintenance of appropriate serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of equipment, supplies, and utensils
  • Interact with customers to resolve complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explain them
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours
  • Monitor inventory and deliveries of product and supplies
  • Track product production, consumption, and waste
  • Inform supervisor when supplies or product are low
  • Perform other duties as assigned
