Job Requirements
- Previous work experience as a chef or line cook
- high school diploma or GED
- ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- availability to travel up to 100% of the time
- ability to work in fast-paced and physically demanding environments
- compliance with pre-employment background check including criminal history and drug screening
- willingness to adhere to Amtrak’s safety and security policies
Job Qualifications
- Previous work experience as a chef or line cook in a restaurant setting
- high school diploma or GED
- excellent written and oral communication skills
- ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- knowledge of FDA sanitation regulations
- experience with food preparation and plating techniques
Job Duties
- Prepare full-course meals for Amtrak passengers
- assist with loading, unloading, and handling of food and service products
- cook and plate menu items freshly on dining cars
- maintain pantry supplies and food prep areas
- wash utensils, pots, and pans in compliance with sanitation standards
- keep the lower level of the dining car clean
- complete all endpoint duties associated with meal service
