Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years in healthcare food service with commercial and institutional cooking experience
  • Two years supervisory experience preferred
  • Current food safety certification from an accredited organization
  • Ability to work full time, day shift
  • County specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire and maintained current

  • HACCP, CDM and/or CFPP certifications desired
  • Culinary degree or certification desired
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets desired
  • County specific Food Handlers certification required upon hire

Job Duties

  • Establish and oversee food production practices and kitchen operations to ensure quality food service for patients, cafeteria visitors, physician dining and catered events
  • Provide staff education in culinary skills, food handling and sanitation practices
  • Supervise production employees and food service workers to ensure compliance with federal, state and regulatory agencies
  • Develop and implement training programs for dietary staff
  • Monitor and maintain food safety standards and certifications
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to accommodate therapeutic diet requirements
  • Manage inventory and procurement for kitchen operations
