Job Requirements
- Completion of drug test, tuberculosis test, physical evaluation, and background check
- Covid-19 and Influenza vaccination if mandated
- Minimum two years experience supervising kitchen, food service, and dining operations
- Current ServSafe certification
- Ability to recruit, coach, and manage kitchen/dining staff

Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years experience supervising kitchen, food service, and dining room operations in a full-service restaurant
- Ability to recruit, coach, and manage performance of kitchen/dining staff
- Minimum two years volume cooking experience and ability to cook three to four days per week
- Current ServSafe certification
- Proven ability to use production sheets, standardized recipes, temperature logs, and sanitation forms
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and modified diets
- Proven ability to manage food and labor budgets and achieve targets
- Proficient in basic computer skills and ability to learn new applications
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and flexible hours
Job Duties
- Deliver consistent high-quality food and hospitality service by following Sunrise recipes, menus, and programs
- Post and display weekly and daily menus in accordance with Sunrise standards
- Complete and utilize production sheets to control food quality and portions
- Ensure adherence to modified diets, correct portioning of foods, and proper serving methods
- Prepare and serve meals on time and at the correct temperatures
- Train on and participate in front-of-the-house operations to ensure a positive customer experience
- Ensure all food in Bistro and/or other common areas is fresh, covered, labeled, and dated as applicable
- Support all special events with exceptional emphasis on marketing events
- Serve minimum one meal per week in Reminiscence and meet with the Reminiscence Coordinator to review service needs
- Partner with the Wellness team and consultant dietitian to deliver snacks, beverages, and meals accurately
- Participate in monthly Resident Council Meetings and food committee meetings
- Visit with residents during meal periods for feedback
- Coordinate staffing in dining room with Residential Care Coordinator before each meal
- Adhere to established product order guides and vendor programs
- Ensure compliance with HACCP and local health department regulations
- Maintain adequate inventory including emergency supplies
- Promote occupational health and safety requirements and risk management policies
- Enforce use of PPE, fire extinguishers, SDS, and Lockout Tagout procedures
- Ensure compliance with sanitation, food safety, and Sunrise standards
- Practice safe food handling to prevent contamination
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Complete and maintain accurate food production and sanitation records
- Partner with Maintenance Coordinator for equipment repairs and maintenance
- Manage department budget including food, labor, and other expenses
- Review financial statements and implement corrective plans
- Process and submit monthly expenses and budget data
- Coordinate staff scheduling and cross training to achieve staff economies
- Conduct regular inventories per accounting guidelines
- Recruit, hire, train, and coach kitchen and dining staff
- Lead daily and monthly team meetings and trainings
- Ensure compliance with state/provincial regulations
- Conduct daily review of timekeeping and payroll
- Perform performance appraisals and manage accountability
- Attend regular meetings as directed
- Stay updated with professional development
- Complete all required training and perform other duties as assigned
