Job Requirements

  • Certified Diet Manager certification
  • 2-3 years of experience in food service, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage and support a team

  • Capability to handle stressful and dynamic work environments

Job Duties

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of Food and Nutrition staff to operational standards to assure quality food service to patients, visitors and staff
  • Support colleagues with their daily duties including cooking, cleaning, and food delivery to patients
  • Manage daily production and execution of the food service operations of a senior living facility to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet regulatory dietary requirements while meeting the residence's preferences
  • Supervise and support dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and fostering a respectful, resident-focused work culture
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support staff development and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CMS, state health codes and internal policies related to food safety, sanitation, and infection control
  • Collaborate with administration and residents with menu selections to improve dining experience, creating a home-like dining experience
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain high standards of resident satisfaction and nutritional value
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality and compliance
