Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Diet Manager
  • 2-3 years of experience in food service, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to maintain a safe working environment and use personal protective equipment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Job Duties

  • Monitors and ensures compliance of Food and Nutrition staff to operational standards to assure quality food service to patients, visitors and staff
  • Support colleagues with their daily duties including cooking, cleaning, and food delivery to patients
  • Manage daily production and execution of the food service operations of a senior living facility to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet regulatory dietary requirements while meeting the residences preferences
  • Supervise and support dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and fostering a respectful, resident-focused work culture
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support staff development and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., CMS, state health codes) and internal policies related to food safety, sanitation, and infection control
  • Collaborate with administration and residents with menu selections to improve dining experience, creating a home like dining experience
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain high standards of resident satisfaction and nutritional value
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality and compliance
