Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Diet Manager
  • 2-3 years of food service experience, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
  • Ability to comply with Trinity Health's Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Capacity to perform manual dexterity activities and operate relevant technology
  • Ability to follow tasks to completion and manage concurrent projects
  • Willingness to work in environments with occasional exposure to biohazards, noise, and other occupational hazards
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and using personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Diet Manager
  • 2-3 years of experience in food service, preferably in healthcare or long-term care
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal and nonverbal forms
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of regulatory dietary requirements and food safety standards
  • Experience in staff scheduling and performance management
  • Proficiency in inventory management and cost control

Job Duties

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of food and nutrition staff to operational standards to assure quality food service to patients, visitors and staff
  • Support colleagues with their daily duties including cooking, cleaning, and food delivery to patients
  • Manage daily production and execution of the food service operations of a senior living facility to ensure residents receive nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet regulatory dietary requirements while meeting the residences preferences
  • Supervise and support dietary staff, including hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and fostering a respectful, resident-focused work culture
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to support staff development and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as CMS and state health codes and internal policies related to food safety, sanitation, and infection control
  • Collaborate with administration and residents with menu selections to improve dining experience, creating a home like dining experience
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain high standards of resident satisfaction and nutritional value
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to ensure efficient use of resources while maintaining quality and compliance
