Job Requirements
- Previous cooking and commercial kitchen experience required
- Must be able to lift and move at least 50 pounds
- Knowledge of food industry procedures and sanitation codes related to buffet services
- Ability to cook large and small quantities
- Understanding of hospitality related to food services
- Must hold current valid Colorado Driver's License and authorize driver’s background check
- Driving record must be insurable under Denver Rescue Mission standards
- Solid Christian ethic with ability to work with diverse cultural, educational, and religious backgrounds
- ServSafe certified or able to obtain certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned
- Must be a Christian holding to beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith, expressed by personal testimony and conduct.

- Experience with volunteer coordination and training
- Familiarity with inventory and food safety management
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Job Duties
- Plans and executes daily menu coordinating with chefs and Food Services leaders
- Organizes and monitors buffet style meal service
- Oversees meal preparation and creates food prep lists for kitchen help including volunteers
- Creates a professional and respectful teamwork-driven environment
- Records and reviews meal service data in Denver Rescue Mission database
- Trains program participants in food handling, preparation, and kitchen teamwork
- Supervises program participants during their Work Readiness assignments
- Cooperates with Volunteer Services to mobilize and engage community volunteers
- Prepares task lists for volunteers and oversees their tasks
- Provides orientation and continuous mobilization for volunteers
- Thanks and debriefs volunteers at shift end
- Maintains and rotates food storage and inventory
- Records donated food and manages excess donation distribution
- Follows food safety and hygiene practices
- Maintains all food safety logs and cleaning schedules
- Discards unusable food items promptly
- Participates in staff meetings and continuous improvement projects
- Upholds Denver Rescue Mission's Christian values and culture.
