Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Three to five years of professional chef or cook experience in large scale operations
- One to two years experience in satellite feeding environments
- Valid state driver’s license
- Physical ability to operate kitchen equipment and lift up to fifty pounds
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods
- Ability to read and interpret recipes, manuals, and reports
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to apply independent judgment and solve practical problems
- Must be adaptable under stress and able to maintain a safe working environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Three to five years experience as a professional chef or cook in large scale operations
- One to two years experience in a satellite feeding environment
- Valid state driver’s license
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen sanitation standards
- Ability to provide staff training and leadership
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to operate various kitchen equipment
- Culinary arts degree or certification preferred
- More than five years of professional chef or cook experience preferred
- At least two years culinary managerial experience preferred
Job Duties
- Evaluates and assesses daily kitchen production activities
- Completes external control sheets ensuring foods are prepared according to recipes
- Provides leadership and guidance on line setup and presentation
- Monitors kitchen sanitation and ensures compliance with health and food safety regulations
- Provides on-the-job training including HACCP guidelines, recipe compliance, and customer service
- Manages identification, breakdown, and loading of satellite meals ensuring proper rationing and temperature control
- Oversees cleaning, inspection, and maintenance needs of kitchen equipment and utensils
- Prepares and submits various records and reports including production and revenue reports
- Operates kitchen machinery such as ovens, steamers, fryers, mixers, and dishwashers
- Interacts and communicates with principals, teachers, students, vendors, maintenance staff, and other stakeholders
- Performs additional related duties as required
