Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- culinary training or certification preferred
- 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, residential program, or healthcare food service setting
- familiarity with therapeutic diets, food allergies, and proper sanitation protocols
- ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire

Job Duties
- The Chef is responsible for preparing healthy, balanced meals for clients in accordance with therapeutic dietary guidelines
- This role plays a vital part in supporting physical wellness and recovery in a residential behavioral health setting
- At Eating Disorder Solutions (EDS), the Chef works closely with the Dietitian to meet individualized meal plan needs
- In other Discovery MSO facilities, the Chef supports general nutritional needs and safe food service operations
- Plan and prepare meals in accordance with facility menu plans and dietary guidelines
- Follow therapeutic and individualized meal plans in collaboration with the Dietitian (at EDS)
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, food storage, and service areas in accordance with health department standards
- Accommodate client dietary restrictions and allergies while maintaining nutritional integrity
- Support meal service and food supervision in a timely, structured manner
- Receive and organize food deliveries
- manage kitchen inventory and food rotation
- Adhere to food safety protocols including temperature checks, handwashing, and allergen awareness
- Engage with clients respectfully during mealtimes and support positive eating experiences
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings related to food safety and trauma-informed nutrition
- Report any concerns regarding food intake, behaviors, or kitchen safety to the appropriate supervisor

- Day Shift: Monday through Thursday, 6:00am - 6:00pm
- Time management and meal planning
- Collaboration with dietetic and clinical teams
- Requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and operating kitchen equipment
- Exposure to heat, cold, cleaning supplies, and common allergens
- Requires attention to safety and hygiene in a high-standards environment
