Job Requirements

  • Ability to work scheduled shifts including evening hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Extensive travel is required onboard ship

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional cooking experience in fine dining, private estates, or yacht environments
  • Food safety certifications as required by the Captain
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of cuisines and current culinary trends
  • Experience with menu planning and dietary accommodations such as allergies, vegan, gluten-free

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare, and present restaurant-quality meals for owners and guests including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
  • Accommodate diverse dietary requirements, preferences, and restrictions with creativity and professionalism
  • Manage all galley operations including inventory management, provisioning, and food storage
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with maritime regulations
  • Create custom menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, guest preferences, and local specialties from various ports
  • Coordinate with crew members to ensure seamless meal service
  • Manage food budgets and minimize waste while maintaining premium quality
  • Adapt cooking techniques to the challenges of a galley kitchen in varying sea conditions
  • Handle special occasions and events with appropriate menu planning and presentation
