Job Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in quantity restaurant or corporate dining
  • Proficiency in scratch cooking and baking techniques including roasting, sautéing, grilling, steaming, proofing, and baking
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and safe ergonomic practices
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and safety in the work environment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and take on leadership responsibilities when necessary
  • Must successfully complete and pass any required testing

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of three years of quantity restaurant or corporate dining experience
  • Upscale culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to interpret written instructions to ensure quality, volume, and presentation of foods
  • Knowledge of food safety production, receiving and storage practices
  • High personal initiative and motivation with teamwork skills
  • Commitment to customer service with positive interactions and anticipation of customer needs
  • Strong initiative and desire for continued culinary growth
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of menu items from scratch including soups, roasts, casseroles, sauces, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and bakery items using scratch cooking and baking techniques
  • Research and test menu items to improve quality and healthfulness aligned with wellness profiles
  • Practice safe food handling and personal safety techniques, maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Operate and clean kitchen equipment following established safety guidelines
  • Support the menu management process including recipe adherence, feedback, ordering, portion control, inventory management, and record keeping
  • Communicate with customers and servers to provide menu information and resolve concerns promptly
  • Cover responsibilities of the Chef Team Leader in their absence ensuring continuity of food preparation, ordering, and service
