Job Requirements
- associate degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of three years of quantity restaurant or corporate dining experience
- knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation standards
- ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing business needs
- good communication skills to interact with customers and team members
- physical ability to meet job demands including standing for long periods and lifting heavy items
- willingness to follow safety and ergonomic procedures
- ability to work flexible hours including possible shifts and weekends
Job Qualifications

- upscale culinary experience preferred

Job Duties
- prepare a variety of menu items from scratch for cafeteria and catering services including soups, roasts, casseroles, sauces, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and bakery items using scratch cooking and baking techniques
- practice safe food handling, ergonomic and personal safety techniques and maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- operate and clean kitchen equipment following safety guidelines
- support the menu management process by following recipes, monitoring portions, maintaining records including HACCP logs, inventorying food storage areas, and assessing leftovers
- communicate effectively with customers and servers about menu and food preparation, respond to questions and concerns promptly and professionally
- cover responsibilities of the Chef Team Leader in their absence to ensure continuity of food preparation, ordering, and service
- adjust tasks and work locations as needed to meet changing business demands and customer needs
