Job Requirements

  • must be at least eighteen years of age
  • ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and stoop throughout the workday
  • ability to frequently lift and move items up to 50 pounds
  • comfort with extreme temperatures including cooking surfaces and walk-in freezers
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors for events
  • must be criminally cleared

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • current food handlers card as required by the department of health
  • demonstrated skills in leadership, training, and supervision
  • proficient written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work effectively within a team

Job Duties

  • prepare menu items according to established standards and recipes
  • provide exceptional quality food that is attractively presented in a timely fashion
  • ensure health protocols are followed including proper hygiene, sanitary food preparation, and correct food temperatures
  • familiarize with residents’ preferences and needs
  • participate in resident orientations
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas
  • handle kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
