Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum five years healthcare food service experience with commercial and institutional cooking
  • At least two years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Valid food safety certification required and current
  • County specific food handlers certificate required upon hire and maintained current

Job Duties

  • Establishes and oversees production practices to ensure quality food service for patients, cafeteria visitors, physician dining, and catered events
  • Provides staff education and development in culinary skills, food handling, and sanitation practices
  • Supervises production employees and food service workers to ensure compliance with federal, state, and regulatory agencies
  • Maintains food safety standards and ensures all staff have current certifications
  • Collaborates with dietary and clinical staff to accommodate therapeutic diets
  • Ensures efficient kitchen operations and fulfillment of food service orders
  • Monitors inventory and manages kitchen resources effectively
