Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a cook in a hotel or restaurant with similar styles and standards
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
  • Ability to compute accurate mathematical calculations

  • Ability to prioritize and organize

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a cook in similar hotel or restaurant standards
  • Some fine dining production and service experience preferred
  • Strong math skills
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking
  • Basic to advanced computer skills
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Ability to perform multiple cooking methods
  • Ability to train staff
  • Knowledge of various international cuisines
  • Food handling certificate

Job Duties

  • Experience in all kitchen stations (fry, grill, sauté, broiler, pantry, and ability to assist on other stations)
  • Execute all menu and recipe items for all meal periods in the assigned kitchen
  • Fully understand work safety and emergency procedures
  • Expedite a la carte orders or workflow assignments in absence of Chef or Sous Chef
  • Prepare all menu items following recipes and yield guides according to hotel standards
  • Produce all food items in assigned kitchen including mother sauces, stocks, and specialty dishes
  • Train and guide Cook I and Cook II and mentor existing staff
  • Maintain proper storage procedures and minimize waste
  • Assist with prep for next day
  • Maintain order timelines from kitchen to dining room
  • Ensure cleaning and organizational standards are met daily
  • Maintain food handling procedures
  • Communicate with Banquet Chef or Chef de Cuisine about shortages
  • Foster professional etiquette and teamwork
