Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience or similar role in a fast-paced professional kitchen
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Food Handler's Certification preferred or required depending on local regulations
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of line cook experience or a similar role in a fast-paced professional kitchen depending on the establishment
  • Experience with food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment
  • Familiarity with specific cuisines or menu items may be required based on the restaurant's focus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary school training or coursework is preferred but not required
  • Food Handler's Certification is preferred but may be required depending on local regulations
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation regulations such as ServSafe certification is desired
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English
  • Understanding of proper use of kitchen equipment such as stoves, refrigeration, slicers, and knives
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic

Job Duties

  • Prepare, season, and cook a variety of dishes including appetizers, entrees, and desserts following recipes and portion standards
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently including grills, ovens, fryers, and slicers
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation ensuring food safety and sanitation compliance standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals during service
  • Assist with receiving and properly storing kitchen inventory and supplies
  • Monitor food quality and freshness ensuring ingredients meet company standards
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Follow all health and safety regulations including proper handling of knives and kitchen equipment
