Job Requirements

  • At least 4 years of culinary experience with 1 year supervisory experience in a kitchen
  • must be creative and innovative
  • ability to work different shifts and areas of the pastry kitchen
  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge of local, state, and federal sanitation regulations
  • proficiency in inventory control and purchasing
  • ability to inspire and motivate team members

Job Duties

  • Assist in planning and developing menus for the hotel
  • ensure correct preparation and presentation of all food items at a consistent level
  • control labor and operating expenses through effective organization, purchasing decisions, and inventory control
  • ensure compliance with sanitation standards and maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
  • communicate with employees and managers to meet operational needs and attend regular meetings for coordination
  • work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • type, cost recipes, create pick up charts and spreadsheets to enhance work efficiency
  • inspect and conduct frequent quality checks to ensure food quality
  • inspire and motivate team members and conduct team-building activities
  • demonstrate floor presence to develop the pastry team contributing to operational success
  • work various shifts and areas in the pastry kitchen to fulfill business needs and gain knowledge to meet role expectations and support growth within the organization
