Job Requirements

  • 18 years of age or above
  • Must obtain and maintain registration or license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission
  • ServSafe or equivalent certification preferred
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred
  • Culinary arts or related field education or experience preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of cooking experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents
  • Ability to respond to inquiries from employees or guests
  • Conversational English required
  • Ability to write instructions
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, lift or maneuver at least 50 pounds
  • Ability to work varying schedules to reflect business needs
  • Must be able to interact professionally with internal and external guests
  • Ability to comply with safety standards and laws

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary arts or related field education or experience preferred

  • Sanitation and culinary knowledge preferred
  • Demonstrated knife skills and safe food handling practices preferred

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policy and procedure manuals and related documents
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from employees or guests
  • Conversational English required, second language a plus
  • Ability to write instructions and present information
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations and decipher various reports
  • Ability to maintain reports upon request

Job Duties

  • Ensure all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards are implemented and applied
  • Participate in short-and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Monitor and evaluate operational effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement
  • Contribute actively to kitchen and restaurant performance and maintain the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures
  • Follow all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and property-wide controls within the department
  • Deliver and maintain a maximum level of property-wide service and satisfaction
  • Assist in providing training opportunities for team members
  • Prepare and finish foods on all stations within the kitchen
  • Maintain accurate inventories while informing management of restocking needs to prevent product shortages
  • Notify chef on duty prior to end of shift if unable to complete assigned tasks within allotted time
  • Produce food of high quality according to standard recipes
  • Attend and participate in daily briefings and other meetings as scheduled
  • Clean and re-set working area
  • Ensure meal quality and guest satisfaction
  • Work with safety as a priority and follow department and company safety standards
  • Maintain relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned
