Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous leadership experience in a culinary environment
- minimum three years’ experience in a high-volume luxury hotel or similar
- strong ability to manage kitchen stations and expedite service
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and stand/walk throughout shifts
- willingness to work flexibly across all kitchen areas
Job Qualifications
- Previous leadership experience or participation in a leadership development program
- minimum of three years experience in a high volume luxury hotel or equivalent
- ability to run all kitchen operations in absence of Sous Chef
- capable of expediting orders during service and ensuring plate quality
- skilled in leading cooks on preparation and presentation standards
- proficiency in butchering meat, fish and poultry
- ability to train staff on station setup, cooking techniques and cleaning routines
Job Duties
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
- understands and adjusts recipes according to business levels
- has working knowledge of proper product storage, rotation and maintenance
- carries out assigned duties as required
- checks quality and quantities of product on all stations and directs cooks on corrections
- communicates potential issues to Sous Chef or Executive Chef
- supports other stations during peak volume
- maintains organizational knowledge of all kitchen stations
- works with cooks to maintain walk-ins and shared areas
- manages delivery logs, temperature logs and health and safety documentation
- communicates clearly with strong interpersonal skills
- supports other culinary departments as needed
- supervises and trains cooks
- motivates and inspires the team
- completes all tasks with 100 percent attention to detail
- flexible and willing to work in all kitchen areas
- takes on leadership responsibilities proactively
- delegates tasks and follows up on completion
- works independently and directs others effectively
