Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of related work experience
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to move and handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds
  • Compliance with company safety and security policies
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and conduct
  • Willingness to perform other reasonable job duties as assigned

Job Duties

  • Maintain adherence to sanitation and health regulations and requirements
  • Meet with the Chef to review assignments and anticipate business levels
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking including portioning, chopping, and storing food
  • Continue preparation work between meal services
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards
  • Monitor food quality during preparation
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes or judgment
  • Test foods to determine if cooked sufficiently
  • Ensure proper portion, arrangement, and garnish of food
  • Serve food in proper portions
  • Anticipate and communicate assistance needed during busy periods
  • Monitor food and labor costs to minimize waste
  • Direct and assist Stewards to maximize clean-up efficiency
  • Provide new ideas and run department in absence of Chef and Sous Chef
  • Use kitchen tools safely and appropriately
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen areas, tools, and equipment
  • Check and ensure appliance and food temperatures
  • Follow company safety and security policies
  • Report maintenance needs, accidents, or unsafe conditions
  • Maintain clean and professional appearance
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests
  • Use clear and professional communication
  • Support team goals
  • Listen and respond to employee concerns
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods
