Job Qualifications

  • Three years of ala carte service or fine dining experience
  • Knowledge of food preparation standards and recipe adherence
  • Good working knowledge of kitchen equipment operation
  • Understanding of sanitation and health department regulations
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Proficient reading and writing skills in English
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Energetic personality with excellent people skills
  • Commitment to maintaining grooming standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare all foods according to standard recipes to ensure product consistency
  • Visually inspect, select, and use food items of the highest quality
  • Check and control proper storage of product and portion control, especially for high-cost meat items
  • Maintain clean refrigeration, storage, and working areas in compliance with health regulations
  • Ensure all equipment is clean and in proper working condition
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items
  • Employ math skills to prepare items according to recipes
  • Stand for long periods and lift products weighing up to 60 pounds
  • Demonstrate knowledge of hot cooking methods including broiling, frying, sautéing, and grilling
  • Follow accepted standards of sanitation
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, and kettles
  • Read and write English to complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate
  • Use manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools like knives, spoons, spatulas, and slicers
