Job Requirements
- Education at least equivalent to an Associate degree or relevant experience
- Previous culinary and kitchen management experience
- Ability to manage cost controls and expenditures
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Email
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capacity to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in culinary arts
- Some progressive culinary or kitchen management experience depending on formal degree or training
- Catering experience is a plus
- Experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable
- Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking methods
- Comprehensive understanding of food and catering trends focusing on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, email, and Internet
- Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs and activities
- ServSafe certification is highly desirable
Job Duties
- Assist the Executive Chef with managing cost controls and control expenditures for the account
- Assist the Executive Chef with planning and creating menus
- Produce and execute catering events
- Roll out new culinary programs in conjunction with company marketing and culinary team
- Demonstrate innovative and creative culinary talent by working closely with the Executive Chef to create new menu items
- Supervise, coordinate, and participate in activities of the culinary team and other kitchen personnel
- Serve as the technical expert, teacher, and trainer for the operation and culinary team
- Oversee food purchasing, establish food cost controls, and offer solutions
- Ensure quality, consistency, and creativity at the highest level while maximizing operation personnel and resources
