Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years degree in Culinary Arts or related major from an accredited university or college
  • Two years kitchen management experience in fine dining, club, or resort atmosphere with open kitchen concept
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • High school diploma or GED with four years chef experience in fine dining, club, or resort atmosphere with open kitchen concept
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Experienced in using culinary industry-related computer software
  • Strong communication skills with employees, dining staff, and members
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate to community standards

Job Duties

  • Control and direct the food preparation process
  • Supervise the production of meals in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • Assist in the design of menus focusing on fresh, local, and healthy ingredients
  • Coordinate with Dining Room Manager to monitor event execution and ensure quality
  • Order and monitor food and kitchen supplies ensuring availability and budget compliance
  • Monitor food rotation and assist with maintaining inventory
  • Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and termination of kitchen staff
  • Review payroll for compliance with attendance and budget regulations
  • Enforce safety and sanitation guidelines per departmental and legal standards
  • Conduct daily inspections of supervision areas to ensure compliance
  • Report accidents and incidents as required
  • Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and cleanliness of all kitchen areas
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and sanitation
  • Enforce personal hygiene, cleanliness, and dress code standards
  • Perform other duties assigned by Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef
