Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years degree in Culinary Arts or related major from an accredited university or college
- Two years kitchen management experience in fine dining, club, or resort atmosphere with open kitchen concept
- ServSafe Certification required
- High school diploma or GED with four years chef experience in fine dining, club, or resort atmosphere with open kitchen concept
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
- Experienced in using culinary industry-related computer software
- Strong communication skills with employees, dining staff, and members
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate to community standards
Job Duties
- Control and direct the food preparation process
- Supervise the production of meals in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Assist in the design of menus focusing on fresh, local, and healthy ingredients
- Coordinate with Dining Room Manager to monitor event execution and ensure quality
- Order and monitor food and kitchen supplies ensuring availability and budget compliance
- Monitor food rotation and assist with maintaining inventory
- Manage hiring, training, scheduling, and termination of kitchen staff
- Review payroll for compliance with attendance and budget regulations
- Enforce safety and sanitation guidelines per departmental and legal standards
- Conduct daily inspections of supervision areas to ensure compliance
- Report accidents and incidents as required
- Ensure proper food storage, labeling, and cleanliness of all kitchen areas
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and sanitation
- Enforce personal hygiene, cleanliness, and dress code standards
- Perform other duties assigned by Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef
