Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years degree from an accredited college in Culinary Arts or related field
- Two years kitchen management experience in fine dining, club, or resort with open kitchen concept
- OR high school diploma or GED with four years culinary experience in similar settings
- ServSafe Certification
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Proficient in culinary industry computer software
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Physical stamina to stand or walk up to 90% of the time
Job Duties
- Control and direct the food preparation process
- Supervise the production of meals in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Assist in the design of menus focusing on fresh, local, healthy ingredients
- Collaborate with Dining Room Manager to monitor event execution ensuring quality and consistency
- Coordinate ordering and inventory of food and kitchen wares
- Ensure food and supplies are within budget and properly rotated
- Manage hiring, training, and evaluation of kitchen staff according to policies and regulations
- Oversee payroll and scheduling compliance
- Enforce safety and sanitation guidelines including conducting daily inspections
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of food storage and kitchen equipment
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Director of Dining Services or Executive Chef
