Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of culinary experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
  • Commitment to uphold luxury service and quality standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field preferred
  • Proven experience as a chef de cuisine or in a similar leadership role within luxury hospitality
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Experience in budgeting, inventory control, and food cost management
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to create innovative menu items and stay current with culinary trends
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Job Duties

  • Standardize recipes, plating instructions, and menu costs
  • Monitor freshness and inspect food products to ensure quality and portion consistency
  • Engage daily in the preparation of food to ensure execution and quality standards are met while minimizing waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen while maintaining sanitation guidelines set forth by Kohler Hospitality, local, state, and federal regulations
  • Work closely with the inventory manager and purchasing to source best quality at best price amongst food vendors while monitoring food shipments
  • Control all labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control, allowing for fluctuation throughout seasonality
  • Monitor sales mix reports monthly, constantly adjusting to enhance guest experience and profitability
