Job Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Able to sit, stand, twist, bend, push, pull, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Able to work effectively in kitchen environments with temperature extremes
  • Completion of Food Manager Certification within 30 days if not already certified
  • Clear and concise communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities

Job Qualifications

  • College degree specializing in hotel/restaurant management or culinary arts preferred
  • Equivalent experience accepted
  • Food Manager Certification required or to be completed within 30 days
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent safety and sanitation knowledge
  • Creative problem-solving abilities

Job Duties

  • Standardize recipes, plating instructions, and menu costs
  • Monitor freshness and inspect food products to ensure quality and portion consistency
  • Engage daily in food preparation to meet quality standards and minimize waste
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen maintaining sanitation guidelines
  • Work with inventory manager and purchasing to source quality products and monitor shipments
  • Control labor and operating expenses through scheduling, budgeting, and inventory control
  • Monitor sales mix reports and adjust to enhance guest experience and profitability
  • Create features and collaborate on special events and marketing opportunities
  • Participate in annual budgeting process
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Store, rotate, label food items and maintain sanitation
  • Stay current on new products to improve quality and reduce costs
  • Provide innovative menu ideas reflecting culinary trends
  • Participate in Kohler special or PR events as needed
  • Assist in all culinary operations as backup
  • Interview, select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline kitchen employees
  • Support company's mission by delivering world-class products and services
  • Interact with guests to ascertain satisfaction
  • Conduct staff meetings and communicate information
  • Attend operational meetings for coordination between departments
  • Coordinate menu tastings and pre-meal meetings to educate staff
  • Work professionally with co-workers and supervisors
  • Participate in MOD program within hotel
