Job Requirements

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a related culinary position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education preferably a culinary degree
  • Advanced knowledge of food service principles and practices
  • Experience managing people and resolving problems
  • Strong verbal, reading, and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and lead kitchen personnel
  • Supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes
  • Establish presentation techniques and quality standards
  • Plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance
  • Ensure safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events
  • Provide culinary instruction and demonstrate culinary techniques
