Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a supervisory culinary role
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Capability to work in varying conditions including heat and noise
  • Manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools and knives
  • Knowledge of cooking equipment operation
  • Understanding of health codes and safety regulations
  • Basic computer skills for inventory and ordering
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as needed

Job Duties

  • Supervise and participate with kitchen staff to prepare and present food according to hotel recipes
  • Assign specific duties to kitchen personnel for efficient operation
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation techniques
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products
  • Adhere to food cost and quality control procedures
  • Write recipes and maintain inventory
  • Order kitchen supplies as needed
  • Schedule staff to maintain labor cost control
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the kitchen
  • Report equipment needs to the chef and engineering department
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through outstanding service
  • Monitor prep work, station setup, line plating, and food quality
  • Manage inventory, requisitions, and cost controls
  • Work closely with wait staff to exceed guest expectations
