Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of related culinary experience
  • culinary degree or relevant post-secondary education preferred
  • strong leadership and management skills
  • excellent communication abilities
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • flexibility to manage changing job duties

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years in a related position
  • 2-3 years of post-high school education preferably in culinary arts
  • advanced knowledge of food profession principles and practices
  • experiential knowledge of people management and problem resolution
  • verbal reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and lead kitchen personnel
  • supervise and coordinate all culinary activities
  • estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes
  • establish presentation techniques and quality standards
  • plan and price menus
  • ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance
  • ensure safety and sanitation in the kitchen
  • oversee special catering events
  • offer culinary instruction and demonstrate culinary techniques
