Job Requirements
- Passion for excellence
- Great team player
- Culinary degree with 3 years professional culinary experience in established scratch cooking food production or 7-10 years professional culinary experience without degree
- Menu creation and ability to teach cooking techniques, regional cuisines and culinary skills
- Extensive experience in multiple cuisines and preferably classically trained
- Preferred vendor management, purchasing and costing experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Current Food Handler’s Certificate required

- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years professional culinary experience in established scratch cooking food production
- Proven ability in menu creation and teaching culinary techniques
- Experience with diverse and regional cuisines
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Preferred knowledge in vendor management, purchasing and costing
- Excellent communication skills
- Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Creates and implements vision for service excellence in dining
- Manages and improves resident and family satisfaction, loyalty within dining program
- Identifies, benchmarks and leverages best practices of customer experiences within dining program
- Develops and maintains effective relationships and two-way communication with residents and families
- Communicates company vision and strategy to create alignment between daily activities and company strategy
- Creates and prepares high quality meals using fresh ingredients and scratch made recipes consistent with local tastes
- Demonstrates senior culinary leadership with advanced cooking techniques, diverse cuisines and new cooking equipment
- Creates seasonal menus aligning with regional preferences
- Supervises daily culinary department operations and informs Food and Beverage Director of key updates
- Has full responsibility and supervision of culinary team including cooks and production associates
- Maintains kitchens, storerooms and scullery in clean sanitary condition per health code
- Serves as morning or evening cook as needed
- Maintains inventory control of kitchen wares, equipment and supplies
- Ensures safe working condition of all food service equipment
- Purchases food and non-food supplies from approved vendors using local artisans where possible
- Directs cooks and utility workers
