Job Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Graduation from accredited culinary school
- Minimum five years of culinary experience in assisted living, hospitality, or related field
- Experience supervising culinary staff
- Valid food handler's permit as required
- Proficiency in English communication
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Ability to maintain budgets and manage inventory
- Strong interpersonal skills to work with residents and vendors
- Commitment to food safety and quality standards

Job Duties
- Interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating assigned staff
- Maintain monthly and annual budgets for the Food & Beverage Service department, including documenting monthly spend on food, supplies, and labor
- Maintain inventory of kitchen supplies, small wares, and tableware
- Ensure purchasing standards are maintained and appropriate vendors are used
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served according to company standards and legal requirements
- Engage regularly with residents and family members to maintain high satisfaction levels
- Train staff to provide high levels of customer service
- Coordinate front and back-of-house staff to deliver exceptional food experiences
- Maintain department customer satisfaction and health survey scores
- Delegate tasks to maintain kitchen cleanliness and quality
- Adhere to food safety practices and quality standards
- Conduct monthly department meetings and in-services
- Develop recipes and menus based on resident preferences and budgets
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment
- Assist in planning and execution of community events, banquets, and themed meals
- Collaborate with sales and community staff to market the community
- Ensure staff meet company expectations and first impression standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned
