Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as Chef de Cuisine in a full-service kitchen
  • Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff effectively
  • Skilled in food ordering, inventory management, and quality control
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and travel occasionally
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Must be able to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Chef de Cuisine experience in a full-service restaurant
  • Proven ability to lead and develop culinary teams
  • Skilled in managing back-of-house systems and kitchen operations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with inventory management and food cost control
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including multiple shifts and weekends
  • Knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine is a plus
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture

Job Duties

  • Lead the opening shift process including food orders, inventory and price updates
  • Receive and store food products ensuring quality standards
  • Oversee kitchen inspections and lead menu changes
  • Manage back-of-house operations including food preparation and cooking
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen employees to ensure high performance
  • Track and control food costs, purchase and order supplies
  • Collaborate with General Manager and management to create prep lists and assign duties
  • Conduct regular line checks to maintain food quality
  • Maintain recipe books with management team
  • Facilitate effective communication between front-of-house and back-of-house
  • Participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and development of BOH staff
  • Promote teamwork and a Culture of Caring among all staff
  • Handle guest, vendor, and employee challenges with patience and professionalism
  • Work varied shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and occasional travel
  • Lift and move kitchen equipment and supplies as required
