Job Requirements

  • 2 years of Chef experience
  • ability to lead kitchen operations and manage teams
  • strong organizational and inventory management skills
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, late nights and weekends
  • must be able to move and lift up to 50 pounds
  • commitment to maintaining food quality and guest satisfaction
  • willingness to travel between multiple sites if required

Job Qualifications

  • 4+ years of Chef de Cuisine experience in a full-service restaurant
  • ability to lead and develop teams
  • skilled in managing back-of-house systems
  • strong leadership and communication skills
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • experience working in Japanese cuisine or similar culinary style

Job Duties

  • Lead the opening shift process including food orders, inventory and price updates
  • receive and store deliveries and oversee inspections
  • lead and manage menu changes
  • lead, direct and ensure efficient BOH operations including food prep and cooking
  • supervise kitchen employees
  • provide guidance and leadership to hourly and management teams
  • track and control food cost
  • purchase and order food products and supplies
  • partner with General Manager and designated managers/chefs to create prep lists and assign production duties
  • perform regular line checks to ensure quality
  • maintain recipe books
  • communicate food production and timing issues between FOH and BOH
  • participate in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, supervising and developing BOH employees and teams
  • promote teamwork
  • handle guest, vendor and employee challenges with patience and courtesy
  • work various shifts including early mornings, late nights, weekends and at multiple sites
  • move and lift up to 50 pounds as required
