Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years of culinary/kitchen management experience
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high volume kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate
- Three to five years of culinary experience preferred
- Two to five years of culinary or kitchen management experience depending on education
- Catering experience
- Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
- Batch cooking or high volume cooking experience preferred
- Experience with large catering or banquet food production
- ServSafe certification
Job Duties
- Manage successful culinary production operations under the direction of the Executive Chef
- Serve as department head during Executive Chef's absence
- Adhere to HACCP guidelines ensuring safe and sanitary food production, preparation, and presentation
- Assist in menu development, inventory management, ordering and purchasing
- Control food costs and maintain quality standards
- Lead training and development of kitchen personnel
- Oversee sanitation and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Manage hiring, firing, counseling, and coaching of culinary staff
