Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years of culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high volume kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts or culinary certificate
  • Three to five years of culinary experience preferred
  • Two to five years of culinary or kitchen management experience depending on education
  • Catering experience
  • Knowledge of food and catering trends with focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost control, and presentation
  • Batch cooking or high volume cooking experience preferred
  • Experience with large catering or banquet food production
  • ServSafe certification

Job Duties

  • Manage successful culinary production operations under the direction of the Executive Chef
  • Serve as department head during Executive Chef's absence
  • Adhere to HACCP guidelines ensuring safe and sanitary food production, preparation, and presentation
  • Assist in menu development, inventory management, ordering and purchasing
  • Control food costs and maintain quality standards
  • Lead training and development of kitchen personnel
  • Oversee sanitation and ensure compliance with health regulations
  • Manage hiring, firing, counseling, and coaching of culinary staff
