Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in professional kitchen environments
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in a culinary setting
  • Strong understanding of inventory and vendor management
  • Ability to work onsite full time in Birmingham, AL
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and safety
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays

  • Proven experience as a chef de cuisine or similar leadership role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Expertise in menu development and culinary innovation
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to manage budgets and control food costs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Culinary degree or relevant professional certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on quality, consistency, and creativity
  • Collaborate on menu development, both preserving tradition and adding new culinary flair
  • Manage, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure optimal performance
  • Work with hotel leadership to plan and execute banquets, private events, and special occasions
  • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Maintain food cost controls and ensure profitability without compromising quality
