Job Duties
- assist executive chef when present and take responsibility in his absence
- assist with staff food training and create training materials
- be present in the kitchen during service periods
- prepare and cook dishes according to recipes
- communicate menu changes and food-related issues to front of house team
- review and manage performance of culinary staff
- ensure safety procedures are followed
- assist in preparation and training for dish consistency
- monitor dish presentation for quality
- help create new menu offerings
- maintain food quality and presentation
- manage food ordering and inventory
- assist in keeping food and labor costs aligned with goals
- communicate with front of house management
- assist with menu proposals and costing
- update culinary documentation
- collaborate with PR team
- attend meetings requested by management
- check company email regularly
- participate in reporting and stay current with daily reports
- ensure compliance with health department regulations
