Job Duties

  • assist executive chef when present and take responsibility in his absence
  • assist with staff food training and create training materials
  • be present in the kitchen during service periods
  • prepare and cook dishes according to recipes
  • communicate menu changes and food-related issues to front of house team
  • review and manage performance of culinary staff
  • ensure safety procedures are followed
  • assist in preparation and training for dish consistency
  • monitor dish presentation for quality
  • help create new menu offerings
  • maintain food quality and presentation
  • manage food ordering and inventory
  • assist in keeping food and labor costs aligned with goals
  • communicate with front of house management
  • assist with menu proposals and costing
  • update culinary documentation
  • collaborate with PR team
  • attend meetings requested by management
  • check company email regularly
  • participate in reporting and stay current with daily reports
  • ensure compliance with health department regulations
