Job Requirements
- Two-year culinary arts degree required
- Minimum of three years of related experience as a sous chef or chef de cuisine
- Three to five years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, food products, and food service equipment
- Previous experience maintaining professional and respectful work relationships
- Previous experience in a restaurant setting preferably in a hotel environment
- Must have serve safe certificate
- Able to work flexible hours and days

Job Duties
- Ensure the highest standard of quality control and menu development for the restaurant, lounge, and support areas
- Continually enhance the culinary experience
- Supervise restaurant kitchen shift operations ensuring compliance with culinary policies, brand standards, and procedures
- Maintain food preparation handling and storage standards
- Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor
- Plan and manage food quantities and plating requirements
- Communicate production needs to key personnel
- Assist in developing daily and seasonal menu items
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and brand standards
- Follow proper handling and temperature of food products
- Prepare and cook foods on the line during peak periods
- Check quality of raw and cooked food products
- Determine food presentation and create decorative displays
- Lead opening and closing duties for service
- Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and kitchen workers
- Utilize interpersonal skills to lead, influence, and encourage others
- Manage day-to-day kitchen operations
- Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
- Train team members to support kitchen operations
- Provide onboarding and training for new hires
- Establish open and collaborative relationships within the team
- Set and support kitchen goals including performance and budget targets
- Manage kitchen operations to achieve budget goals
- Investigate and follow up on team member accidents
- Implement company safety standards
- Identify developmental needs and coach team members
- Participate in menu training for restaurant staff
- Manage team member progressive discipline and performance appraisals
- Assist in interviewing and hiring kitchen staff
- Communicate restaurant information effectively to relevant teams
- Analyze information and solve operational problems
- Control labor and operating expenses with creative cost control and revenue generation
- Maintain relationships with regular and new guests
- Coordinate with management to meet operational needs
- Act as a champion of change and role model for innovation
