Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years' professional culinary experience
  • formal culinary education or equivalent training
  • strong leadership capabilities
  • excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • ability to work onsite in Jackson, MS
  • availability to work full-time hours
  • passion for culinary innovation and heritage preservation

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef in upscale or high-volume restaurants
  • strong leadership and team management skills
  • expertise in menu development balancing traditional and modern cuisine
  • excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
  • ability to manage inventory and control food costs
  • effective communication and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Lead daily kitchen operations with a focus on quality, consistency, and creativity
  • collaborate on menu development, both preserving tradition and adding new culinary flair
  • manage, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff to ensure optimal performance
  • work with hotel leadership to plan and execute banquets, private events, and special occasions
  • oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • maintain food cost controls and ensure profitability without compromising quality
