Job Requirements

  • Previous work experience in a restaurant as a chef or line cook
  • high school diploma or GED
  • willingness to travel up to 100%
  • ability to pass pre-employment background check including criminal history and drug screen
  • compliance with DOT drug and alcohol regulations
  • eligibility to work in the United States
  • physical ability to perform kitchen duties on board trains

Job Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a restaurant as a chef or line cook
  • high school diploma or GED
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and mobile environment
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare full-course meals for Amtrak passengers
  • assist with all phases of meal preparations
  • wash all items used in the preparation of meals in compliance with FDA sanitation regulations and standards
  • complete all endpoint duties
  • assist with loading and unloading food and service products
  • handle and store food and supplies appropriately
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and lower level of the dining car
