Job Requirements
- Must have New York City Department of Health Food Handler's Certificate
- High school diploma preferred
- At least two years of experience in the commercial food service industry
- Ability to work well with others in a fast paced environment
- Ability to follow menus, large quantity recipes, and schedules
- Good physical health with ability to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Must speak and understand basic English

Job Duties
- Order, receive, inspect, and safely store dry, perishable, and frozen food including daily temperature checks of refrigerators and freezers
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals in compliance with NYC Department of Health and Department for the Aging standards for over 200 meals daily
- Oversee the work of volunteers and individuals assigned to meal service
- Prepare work schedule in collaboration with Director
- Maintain electronic daily food cost records and compile weekly food cost reports
- Make local food purchases as needed
- Attend professional development trainings
- Collaborate with Director to create menus
- Ensure weekly cleaning and sanitizing of all kitchen equipment
- Clean pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment daily
- Clean stoves and ovens weekly and refrigerators weekly
- Perform other duties as assigned by Director
