Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience working in a professional kitchen
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- physical stamina and dexterity
- knowledge of health and safety regulations
- willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a chef or in a similar role
- strong leadership and team management skills
- excellent knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations
- familiarity with budgeting and cost management
- ability to create innovative and appealing menus
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Job Duties
- Create menus
- direct the food prep process
- plan and order ingredients and necessary equipment
- arrange for kitchen repairs when needed
- use Profit and Loss statements to effectively manage costs and meet budgets
- hire, manage, and train kitchen staff
- oversee kitchen staff, looking for opportunities to counsel or coach
- foster cooperation, collaboration and respect
- enforce all safety and sanitation requirements
