Job Requirements
- Certified dietary manager or associate degree and/or certification in the culinary arts
- experience in dietary operations within healthcare or skilled nursing
- ability to lead and supervise staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- strong organizational and communication skills
- proficiency in menu planning and inventory management
- commitment to quality and resident satisfaction
Job Qualifications
- Certified dietary manager or associate degree and/or certification in the culinary arts
- effective communication with dietitian diet tech and other facility disciplines to ensure team work and quality patient care
Job Duties
- Oversees the entire dietary operation including orientation training and supervision of dietary staff
- performs ongoing training and staff evaluations
- assists in direct operations as needed
- ensures staff properly use and clean dietary equipment
- responsible for care of all dietary equipment
- maintains an effective in-service program to keep employees proficient and food service operations within standards
- conducts meal rounds to supervise delivery of meals to residents
- engages with residents and families about food preferences and suggestions
- supervises all work areas including preparation production stock rooms and dish room
- maintains safety and sanitation standards
- assists in purchasing high-quality foods and verifies received quality
- oversees inventories and stock rotation to decrease waste
- works with dietitian in menu planning and development
- participates in QAPI and promotes performance improvement efforts
- caters facility special events and collaborates with Activity Director for resident events
