Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum one year of food service experience required three years preferred
  • food handler's permit as required by state
  • first aid certification required
  • must be 18 years or older
  • compassion for and desire to work with older adults
  • strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure

Job Duties

  • Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements
  • ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures
  • maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas
  • assist in training and mentoring culinary staff
  • monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction
  • uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance
  • foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment
  • report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required
  • perform other duties as assigned
