Job Requirements
- Completion of culinary arts training or apprenticeship
- at least one year of food production experience in an institutional or quality food environment
- valid ServSafe or similar certification if required
- ability to follow health and safety policies
- effective communication and organizational skills
- ability to supervise and guide staff
- commitment to providing quality food services
Job Qualifications
- Culinary arts school training or apprenticeship experience
- minimum one year experience in a quality food production or institutional environment
- ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification when required
- strong leadership and supervisory skills
- knowledge of menu planning and food safety regulations
- ability to maintain records and coordinate with nutrition professionals
Job Duties
- Direct culinary activities within the facility
- provide supervision and guidance to dietary staff
- work closely with dietitian to provide professional direction in food services
- ensure quality and nutritionally appropriate meals are provided
- plan menu items and order supplies
- keep records and accounts as needed
- adhere to health and safety policies and food service regulations
