Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a chef or cook
- Ability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Capacity to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds
- Ability to work under pressure and meet time deadlines
- Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations
- Ability to operate large culinary equipment safely
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Qualifications
- Ability to use standard kitchen equipment safely
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, raw materials and quality control
- Experience in product ordering and receiving
- Menu planning skills
- Commitment to scratch cooking and healthful foods
- Ability to follow and execute recipes accurately
- Culinary training or equivalent experience preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare, portion, cook, and present various hot and cold food items
- Taste test and adjust seasonings for dishes
- Maintain kitchen organization and cleanliness
- Follow workplace, food safety, HACCP and internal audit guidelines
- Operate large volume culinary equipment
- Assist Executive and Sous Chefs in food production oversight
- Support menu planning, product ordering, and receiving
- Train and mentor kitchen staff
- Report safety hazards, ingredient discrepancies, and other concerns
- Participate in meetings and maintain accurate HACCP logs
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment
- Take monthly inventory and support management
- Maintain a safe and sanitary workstation at all times
